افصحت شركة سكوير اينيكس عن نتائج سنتهم المالية وبالنيابة عن الشركة صرح الرئيس والمدير التمثيلي لسكويراينيكس يوسيكي ماتسودا بأن " شادو اوف ذا تومب رايدر" بداءت بداية ضعيفة , لكننا بعنا مايقارب 4.12 مليون نسخة بنهاية الربع الثالث , ونتطلع الى زيادة المبيعات في الربع الثالث من السنة المالية لعام 2020 , نحن نعتقد بأن السبب الرئيسي في ذلك هو عدم قدرتنا على تقديم تجربة قصصية ممتعة للاعبين مقارنة بالعناوين الاخرى من الشركات المنافسة
